Maintaining & Reverting My Straightened Hair

Hi dearies,
Following from my post on how straighten my hair it made sense to post on how I maintain my hair this period and also making reference to what I do to revert my hair back to it’s natural state (that is, it’s natural curl pattern). This one’s short and straight to it. Products mentioned are in my hair regimen post here http://wp.me/p31sI3-4T

HAIRCARE WHILST STRAIGHTENED: I use my leave-in cream by herbal essence + a drop or two of jojoba oil (any oil but use very minimal amount) to style my hair everyday while it is straight. Night time, I tend to sleep with 5 big bendy rollers. Some people put theirs in two big single plaits or even wrap their hair. Since my hair has grown a bit longer I now go for sleeping with two pigtails ‘cos it’s quicker and tie my silk scarf 🙂 Aside from trimming my hair, I do a search and destroy (inspect ur hair strands and cut off any unhealthy, split or knotted parts of individual hair strands. For optimum health but to retain length as much as possible). Remember I only get to do the search & destroy once a year so it’s not a burden.

PRE-POO TREATMENT: I revert using my pre-poo treatment (to make it more potent you could add one fresh egg to the mixture but I personally do not like the smell). For full details on what I do when I want to revert my hair back using this process Check post ‘Deep Conditioning – My Pre Poo Treatment + Detangling Process’here http://wp.me/p31sI3-1V. As you can tell by now my pre-poo treatment definitely plays a multi-functional role as well as crucial role in my hair regimen.

SHAMPOO TIME: I prefer to wash my hair with Elasta QP’s Creme Conditioning Shampoo or African Black Soap in liquid form in the twisted sections it has from my pre-poo treatment and use herbal essence conditioner afterwards for 2 minutes and rinse out thoroughly. Clean hair, style as you want. That’s it dearies.

Kisses,
Lady P.

    • Not sure what you mean by ‘ricey’ but I have had issues with my front hair before and I explain how I gave it attention here http://wp.me/p31sI3-55

In regards to how I keep it in order I wet my hand rub it around my edges to get it damp, seal with oil and depending on the look I follow with a soft brush. If I want a sleeker look I use aloe Vera gel (100% natural) or my organic root stimulator twist gel (arrange it how I want it to flow lol). Also I sleep with a silk sleeping scarf pretty much every night I feel that helps to keep my edges laying flat as well. Hope that helps.

  1. What brand of African black soap In liquid form do you use. There too many on the market. Do you have a specific type?

    • Hello Eyram, thanks for the compliment. I am sure you will av even more fun wit ur hair wen it gets this long. I av Neva stuck to a brand for the black soap because I do not use it often only typically when I av run out of shampoo.

    • Dear Eyram, I have never used the same brand before. I just tend to buy the ones that state they are from Ghana in liquid form. With dedication and love I am sure your hair will be as long and healthy as mine. All the very best
